These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of the Muhoort mobile application (the "App"). The App is operated by Laagadh Pvt. Ltd. ("Laagadh," "we," "our," or "us"), a private limited company registered in India.

By installing or using Muhoort, you agree to these Terms and to our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, please do not use the App.

You must be at least 13 years old to use Muhoort. If you are between 13 and the legal age of majority in your country, you may use the App only with the involvement and consent of a parent or legal guardian.

What Muhoort Provides

Muhoort is a calendar-and-guidance app that:

  • Computes daily and intra-day muhoort (auspicious-time) predictions based on your birth details (date, time, place of birth) and your current location.
  • Displays color-coded quality indicators across the calendar so you can see at a glance which periods are favorable, mixed, or unfavorable for selected categories.
  • Lets you create, edit, and sync calendar events to and from connected providers (Google Calendar and Microsoft Outlook).
  • Provides an AI conversational assistant that you can ask questions about timing, your calendar, or general guidance.
  • Delivers daily notifications summarising the day's outlook and an evening prompt for reflection.

We may add, remove, or modify features over time. We will use reasonable efforts to give you advance notice of significant changes when feasible.

Important Disclaimers — Please Read Carefully

Muhoort provides spiritual, cultural, and informational guidance, not professional advice. The muhoort predictions and AI chat responses are generated by software based on traditional astrological principles and language-model technology. They are intended for personal reflection and cultural interest.

Astrological predictions

Muhoort's calculations follow traditional Vedic methods applied to your birth chart and the time and location you have provided. Different astrological traditions use different conventions, and even within a tradition reasonable practitioners can disagree.

  • Predictions are guidance, not guarantees. Following a "favorable" period does not guarantee a positive outcome, and acting during an "unfavorable" period does not guarantee a negative one.
  • Predictions are sensitive to the accuracy of the inputs you provide. An incorrect time or place of birth can significantly change the result.
  • Predictions are not medical advice, financial advice, legal advice, psychological diagnosis, or a substitute for professional consultation.
  • Decisions about health, money, legal matters, relationships, employment, or any other significant aspect of your life should be made with appropriate professional advice and your own judgment — not solely on the basis of a prediction in this App.

AI chat responses

The AI conversational assistant uses a large language model. Like all AI systems of its kind, it can produce responses that sound authoritative but contain errors, omissions, or fabricated information ("hallucinations").

  • Verify important information independently before acting on it.
  • The AI does not have access to real-time external data outside of what the App provides it (your calendar context, your birth details, your selected categories).
  • AI responses are not professional advice of any kind.

Service availability

The quality and timeliness of calendar sync, location services, notifications, and AI responses depend on third-party services and your device's connectivity, which we do not control. The App may be unavailable or features may degrade for reasons outside our control.

Your Account

You agree to provide accurate information when registering and to keep it up to date. You are responsible for safeguarding your account credentials and for all activity under your account. If you suspect unauthorised use, contact info@muhoort.com immediately. We may, where necessary, suspend or restrict access to a compromised account to protect you and other users.

Permitted Use

We grant you a limited, personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to install and use the App on devices you own or control, for your personal, non-commercial use, subject to these Terms.

Restrictions

You agree NOT to:

  • Reverse-engineer, decompile, or disassemble the App, except to the extent applicable law expressly permits.
  • Probe or test the App or our servers for vulnerabilities, or attempt to bypass authentication, rate limits, or other security measures.
  • Use the App to transmit unlawful, harmful, infringing, harassing, or otherwise objectionable content.
  • Use the App to send mass automated requests, scrape data at scale, or interfere with the service for other users.
  • Resell, rent, or sub-license the App, or use it to provide services to third parties.
  • Misrepresent your identity, age, or other registration details.

We may suspend or terminate your access if you violate these Terms.

Calendar Sync and Third-Party Services

If you connect a Google Calendar or Microsoft Outlook account, you authorise Muhoort to read and write events on the calendars you select. Your use of Google Calendar and Outlook is also governed by Google's and Microsoft's respective terms.

The App also relies on third-party services for:

  • Geocoding (Radar.io)
  • Push notifications (Firebase Cloud Messaging on Android, Apple Push Notification service on iOS)
  • Hosting and infrastructure

We are not responsible for the availability, accuracy, or behavior of these third-party services. Their terms and privacy policies apply when you interact with them.

Your Submissions to Chat and Feedback

When you ask a question through Muhoort's chat or submit feedback, you understand that your submission is processed by our backend and language-model service to generate a response or improve the App. You agree not to submit:

  • Personal information about other people without their consent.
  • Confidential or proprietary information that you are not authorised to share.
  • Content that is unlawful, obscene, harassing, hateful, or infringing.

We may use anonymised, aggregated patterns from chat and feedback to improve the App. We do not associate this aggregated analysis back to your identity.

Intellectual Property

All rights, title, and interest in and to the App — including the source code, design, branding, the "Muhoort" name and logo, and the predictions and content the App generates for you — are owned by Laagadh Pvt. Ltd. or our licensors. These Terms do not grant you any rights to our trademarks, brand assets, or confidential information beyond what is necessary to use the App.

You retain ownership of the content you provide (your birth details, your calendar events, your chat messages, your feedback). By providing this content to Muhoort you grant us a license to process it for the purposes described in our Privacy Policy.

Termination and Account Deletion

You may stop using Muhoort at any time by uninstalling the App. To delete your account and the data associated with it, send an email from your registered email address to info@muhoort.com with your user ID and the subject "Account deletion request." We will confirm receipt and process the deletion within a reasonable period, subject to limited retention of records we are required to keep by law.

We may suspend or terminate your account if:

  • You violate these Terms.
  • We are required to do so by law or a valid legal request.
  • The Service is discontinued (with reasonable notice where feasible).

Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law:

  • The App is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement.
  • Laagadh, its directors, employees, and affiliates are not liable for any indirect, incidental, consequential, special, or punitive damages, or for loss of data, revenue, profits, or goodwill, arising from your use of or inability to use the App.
  • In any case where we are found liable, our total aggregate liability to you shall not exceed the greater of (a) the amount you paid to us in the twelve months preceding the claim, or (b) ₹1,000.

Nothing in these Terms limits liability that cannot be limited under applicable Indian law (for example, liability for fraud or for death or personal injury caused by negligence).

Governing Law and Disputes

These Terms are governed by the laws of India, without regard to conflict-of-laws principles. You agree that any dispute arising out of or relating to these Terms or your use of the App shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts at [TBD — city, state in India].

Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. When we do, we will update the "Last updated" date at the top of this page and, for significant changes, notify you through the App or by email. Continued use of Muhoort after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms. If you do not agree to the changes, please stop using the App.
